The rising demand for non-renewable resources such as asphalt binder is a significant issue in the pavement industry. Flexible consumes amount of binder, which has become major terms environmental sustainability and from an economics viewpoint. Hence, researchers strive to find other alternatives solve these problems, enhance performance lifespan flexible pavement. Biomass-based bio-oil, waste cooking oil (WCO), modifier illustrated favorable effects mixture. However, industry, its adoption still empirical stage. this paper aimed give overview by analyzing literature in-depth reveal potential WCO low- intermediate-temperature WCO-modified are superior. it compromises physical properties high-temperature performance. can be improved controlling quality or further modification additives ground tire rubber (GTR) plastic. This also attempts review available chemical technologies minimize negative free fatty acid (FFA) water content on modified properties. For mixture, overall depends dose, WCO, type additive added binder. Finally, future recommendations provided broaden scope forthcoming sustainable
