Wall Shear Stress Measurement in Carotid Artery Phantoms with Variation in Degree of Stenosis Using Plane Wave Vector Doppler

چکیده
Wall shear stress (WSS) plays an important role in the formation, growth, and rupture of atherosclerotic plaques arteries. This study measured WSS diseased carotid artery phantoms with degrees stenosis varying from 0 to 60% both steady pulsatile flow. Experiments were performed using silico real flow phantoms. Blood velocities estimated plane wave (PW) vector Doppler. was then velocity gradient near wall multiplied by viscosity a blood-mimicking fluid. The phantom agreed within 10% ground-truth values (root-mean-square error). experiment showed that mean maximum increased increasing degree stenosis. simulation results provide necessary validation data give confidence measurements patients PW Doppler technique.

Non-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis
In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a pre-diagnosis to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...

background: pulse wave velocity (pwv) is widely used for estimating the stiffness of an artery. v arious invasive and non-invasive methods have been developed to determine pwv over the years. in the present research , the non-invasive estimation of the pwv of large arteries was used as an index for arterial stiffness. methods: a dynamic model based on the navier-stokes equations coupled to elas...
