Walkability and Bikeability for Sustainable Spatial Planning in the City of Novi Sad (Serbia)

The global trend of increasing urbanization and motorization represents a major obstacle in the sustainable development planning cities. This did not bypass city Novi Sad (Serbia), which, despite good cultural historical preconditions for forms transport, resist sudden increase degree motorization. aim this work is to present how favorable existing structure types traffic (mainly walking cycling). Furthermore, research aims establish link between bikeability walkability cycling through survey questionnaire thus aiming show much planned land use affects or decrease order whether documents respect principle sustainability defined by law. methodological procedure adapted European cities information base available researched area based on index. results showed that has potential morphology support modes but do recognize imperative change towards sustainability.
