The management and monitoring of the quality water resources in Mekelle area are challenging, due to both geogenic anthropogenic impacts. extent these impacts sources pollution this have not been thoroughly investigated. In article, a mapping vulnerability was carried out using DRASTIC method modified map produced. Single-parameter map-removal sensitivity analyses were performed on relevant rates weights. A final index, varying from 54 140, divided into four classes: low (225.7 km2), medium (302.8 high (307.2 very (187.6 km2); values parentheses indicate corresponding areal coverage each class. Similarly, ranging 91 192, (166.4 (266.8 (338.0 (252.2 km2) Nitrates used validate models. which moderate positive correlations (with Pearson’s correlation coefficient, r) 0.681 0.702 calculated for indices, respectively. comparison two maps showed that significant located areas with vulnerability. results research work can be protection groundwater area.
