Voluntary use of automated writing evaluation by content course students

Abstract Automated writing evaluation (AWE) technologies are common supplementary tools for helping students improve their language accuracy using automated feedback. In most existing studies, AWE has been implemented as a class activity or an assignment requirement in English academic classes. The potential of voluntary learning tool is unknown. This study reports on the use Criterion by foreign two content courses assignments. We investigated (a) to what extent used and (b) revisions based feedback increased from first submitted draft last both analyzed students’ performance summary descriptive statistics non-parametric statistical tests. findings showed that not all resubmitted revised draft. However, also engagement with significantly reduced users’ errors 11 error categories total
