Volume Bragg Grating Locked Alexandrite Laser

چکیده
We report the first ever demonstration of a wavelength-locked Alexandrite laser using volume Bragg grating (VBG) as wavelength-selective mirror. Output power 3.3 W with diffraction limited beam quality M2=1.1 was obtained at lasing wavelength 762.2 nm and linewidth (FWHM) 2.5 GHz.

Widely tunable Yb:KYW laser with a volume Bragg grating.
We demonstrate a narrowband, continuously tunable Yb:KYW laser locked by a volume Bragg grating at oblique incidence in a retroreflector configuration. The tuning range was 997 nm to 1050 nm (15 THz) with bandwidth < 0.1 nm and a maximum output power of 4.7 W. In a high-quality beam with M(2) < 1.3, the maximum output power was 1.7 W. We also demonstrate 3 W output power at 1064 nm from the sam...
متن کاملMoiré apodized reflective volume Bragg grating
Volume Bragg grating (VBG) with refractive index modulation (RIM) apodized with sinusoidal semiperiod profile is studied theoretically and experimentally. An apodized VBG of this type was fabricated with a sequential recording of two VBGs with slightly different resonant Bragg wavelengths in the same glass wafer. As a result, a moiré pattern was produced with a constant average refractive index...
متن کاملSaturation of multiplexed volume Bragg grating recording.
Recording of volume Bragg gratings (VBGs) in photo-thermo-refractive glass is limited to a maximum refractive index change about 0.002. We discuss various saturation curves and their influence on the amplitudes of recorded gratings. Special attention is given to multiplexed VBGs aimed at recording several gratings in the same volume. The best shape of the saturation curve for production of the ...
متن کاملWavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating.
We demonstrate a wavelength-tunable, passively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser based on graphene and chirped fiber Bragg grating. The saturable absorber used to enable passive mode-locking in the fiber laser is a section of microfiber covered by graphene film, which allows light-graphene interaction via the evanescent field of the microfiber. The wavelength of the laser can be continuously...
متن کاملCharacterizing femtosecond laser inscribed Bragg grating spectra.
We present numerical modeling based on a combination of the Bidirectional Beam Propagation Method and Finite Element Method that completely describes the wavelength spectra of point by point femtosecond laser inscribed fiber Bragg gratings, showing excellent agreement with experiment. We have investigated the dependence of different spectral parameters such as insertion loss, all dominant cladd...
