چکیده
Despite the very different underlying physics of organic photovoltaics (OPVs), inorganic p-n junction’s Shockley’s diode equation is often applied to describe current density–voltage (JV) curves OPVs. The model parameters, including saturation current, ideality factor, series, and parallel resistances, are usually extracted treated as constants in JV curve analyses. In this work, we develop a drift-diffusion bilayer interface (DD-BI) for OPVs, which treats donor–acceptor (D–A) heterojunction using detailed balance between densities polaron pairs, free electrons, holes. From DD-BI model, derive equation, form, but each parameter explicitly written terms D–A properties. We call self-consistent (SCD) it consistent with results provided that key parameters from simulation data. By studying effects light intensity carrier mobility, find Shockley SCD voltage dependent because space charge accumulation around heterojunction. Our models successful explaining common discrepancies OPV analyses, such validity fitting series resistance, deviation factor theoretical values, resistance values under dark conditions. provide better understanding OPVs how can capture its equation.

Origins of the Equivalent Circuit Concept: The Voltage-Source Equivalent
The theoretical foundations of linear circuit theory rest on Maxwell’s theory of electromagnetism. In its more applied form, circuit theory rests on the key concepts of Kirchoff’s Laws, impedance, Ohm’s Law (in its most general sense by encompassing impedances), and the Principle of Superposition. From this foundation, any linear circuit can be solved: Given a specification of all sources in th...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of charge carrier generation in organic photovoltaics.
The charge generation mechanism in organic photovoltaics is a fundamental yet heavily debated issue. All the generated charges recombine at the open-circuit voltage (V_{OC}), so that investigation of recombined charges at V_{OC} provides a unique approach to understanding charge generation. At low temperatures, we observe a decrease of V_{OC}, which is attributed to reduced charge separation. C...

In this work, a newly fabricated organic solar cell based on a composite of fullerene derivative [6,6]-phenyl-C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) and regioregular poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) with an added interfacial layer of AgOx in between the PEDOT:PSS layer and the ITO layer is investigated and an equivalent circuit model is proposed for the device. Incorporation of the AgOx interfacial...

Over the past decade, considerable progress has been made in the development of organic materials for photovoltaic applications. Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) using n-type and a p-type semiconductor materials in the active layer is the most widely adopted device architecture to ensure maximum internal donor–acceptor (D–A) interfacial area for efficient charge separation. The most critical challenge...

We report a novel diindenothieno[2,3-b]thiophene ladder-type hexacyclic arene for constructing a donor-acceptor copolymer PDITTDTBT. A device based on PDITTDTBT:PC(71)BM exhibited a high V(oc) of 0.92 V with an impressive PCE of 5.8%, while a PDITTDTBT:DMPCBA-based device showed an extra high V(oc) of 1.14 V.
