Volatile Organic Compounds in the North China Plain: Characteristics, Sources, and Effects on Ozone Formation

چکیده

Enhanced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) observations were made on ozone-exceeding days in June 2020 Linyi, China. A total of 69 VOCs collected (1 alkyne, 29 alkanes, 10 alkenes, 14 aromatic hydrocarbons, and 15 oxygenated (OVOCs)). The average concentration (TVOCs) was 36.0 ± 0.66 ppb, the top three components OVOCs, which accounted for 40.75%, 27.02%, 11.30%, respectively. Based positive matrix factorization (PMF) model, main sources Linyi City divided into vehicle exhaust (39.11%), biomass combustion (21.82%), oil gas volatilization (21.46%), solvent use (17.61%). ozone formation potential (OFP) contribution rate dominated by aromatics, with rates 26.37%, 25.30%, 23.65%, six that contributed most to OFP formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, 1-butene, butadiene, trans-2-butene, propylene. empirical kinetic modelling approach (EKMA) curve indicated situ (O3) production limited VOCs, reducing O3 precursors accordance VOCs/NOx ratio 1.15 can control pollution more effectively.

Characteristics of water consumption in water-saving winter wheat and effects on the utilization of subsequent summer rainfall in the North China Plain

Winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grows in dry season but summer maize (Zea mays L.) coincides with rainfall in the North China Plain (NCP). Increasing rainfall use efficiency and harmonizing its utilization between the two species is an effective way to mitigate impact on groundwater deriving from wheat irrigation. One to four times water supply (W1, to W4) were employed in wheat, three wate...

Volatile Organic Compounds in India: Concentration and Sources

This article highlights the key observation of various studies conducted in Indian scenario. In India, the major sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are vehicle exhaust. Other sources include emissions from diesel internal combustion engines, oceanic emission and evaporative emissions. Various aspects of VOCs are studied in detail by various authors in the Indian context. VOC sampling ...

Development and Application of Improved Methods for Measurement of Ozone Formation Potentials of Volatile Organic Compounds

This project was aimed at developing improved and lower-cost alternative experimental procedures for evaluating chemical mechanisms for predicting ozone impacts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). More precise measurements of effects of VOCs on OH radicals in chamber experiments could be obtained if 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene is used instead of m-xylene as the radical tracer, but our ability to m...

Volatile organic compounds in pesticide formulations: Methods to estimate ozone formation potential

The environmental fate and toxicity of active ingredients in pesticide formulations has been investigated for many decades, but relatively little research has been conducted on the fate of pesticide co-formulants or inerts. Some co-formulants are volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and can contribute to ground-level ozone pollution. Effective product assessment methods are required to reduce emis...
