Understanding Tag Systems by Comparing Tag models

Since Holland (1993) introduced the concept of tags a number of tag models with intriguing and potentially very useful, properties have been advanced. However there is currently little understanding as to the exact mechanisms that produce these results. Specifically it is not know what (if any) are the necessary conditions for tag systems to produce high levels of cooperation in social dilemmas...

Modeling Tag Dependencies in Tagged Documents

We present a general approach for modeling tagged documents with topic models. This approach extends related topic models by exploiting the dependencies between tags. We show how this model improves performance in a prediction task where the goal is to predict missing tags for new documents. Predictions also compare favorably with SVMs.

Factor Models for Tag Recommendation in BibSonomy

This paper describes our approach to the ECML/PKDD Discovery Challenge 2009. Our approach is a pure statistical model taking no content information into account. It tries to find latent interactions between users, items and tags by factorizing the observed tagging data. The factorization model is learned by the Bayesian Personal Ranking method (BPR) which is inspired by a Bayesian analysis of p...
