چکیده
Imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) is a powerful technique that enables analysis of various molecular species at high spatial resolution with low detection limits. In contrast to the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI-MS) approach, surface-assisted (SALDI) can be more effective in small molecules due absence interfering background signals m/z ranges. We developed functionalized TiO2 nanowire as solid substrate for IMS low-molecular-weight plant tissues. prepared nanowires using an inexpensive modified hydrothermal process and subsequently them chemically silane analogs overcome problem superhydrophilicity substrate. Chemical modification changed selectivity imprinting samples deposited on surface thus improved The was applied image distribution metabolites very fragile specimens such petal Catharanthus roseus. observed are distributed heterogeneously petal, which consistent previous results reported C. roseus leaf stem. intermediates corresponding biosynthesis pathway some vinca alkaloids were clearly shown petal. also performed profiling petals from five different cultivars plant. verified semi-quantitative capabilities imprinting/imaging approach by comparing LC-MS extracts. This suggested substrate-based SALDI complementary MALDI-MS.

Vinca Alkaloids
Vinca alkaloids are a subset of drugs obtained from the Madagascar periwinkle plant. They are naturally extracted from the pink periwinkle plant, Catharanthus roseus G. Don and have a hypoglycemic as well as cytotoxic effects. They have been used to treat diabetes, high blood pressure and have been used as disinfectants. The vinca alkaloids are also important for being cancer fighters. There ar...

Visualizing spatial distribution of alectinib in murine brain using quantitative mass spectrometry imaging
In the development of anticancer drugs, drug concentration measurements in the target tissue have been thought to be crucial for predicting drug efficacy and safety. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is commonly used for determination of average drug concentrations; however, complete loss of spatial information in the target tissue occurs. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI)...
متن کاملCharacterization of surface ligands on functionalized magnetic nanoparticles using laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS).
Functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been characterized by laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS). Quantitative information about surface ligand composition and structure for monolayer and mixed monolayer protected Fe3O4 and FePt NPs can be obtained rapidly with very little sample consumption.
