Visible Light Driven Photocatalytic Decolorization and Disinfection of Water Employing Reduced TiO2 Nanopowders

Defect-engineering of TiO2 can have a major impact on its photocatalytic properties for the degradation persisting and non-biodegradable pollutants. Herein, series intrinsic extrinsic defects are induced by post annealing crystalline under different reducing atmospheres. A detailed optoelectronic characterization sheds light key characteristics defect-engineered nanopowders that linked to performance prepared photocatalysts. The photodegradation model dye, malachite green, as well inactivation bacterial endospores Geobacillus stearothermophilus species were studied in presence developed catalysts visible illumination. Our results indicate combination certain is necessary improvement process water purification disinfection light.
