چکیده

Laboratory measurements were performed to study the spectral signature of H2O ice between 0.4 and 4.2 µm depending on varying temperatures 70 220 K. Spectral parameters samples with particle sizes up ~1360 µm, size mixtures, different shapes analyzed. The band depth (BD) major H2O-ice absorptions at 1.04, 1.25, 1.5, 2 offers an excellent indicator for in pure ice. changes due temperature rather, but not exclusively, affect located 1.31, 1.57, 1.65 Fresnel reflection peaks 3.1 3.2 which strongly weaken increasing temperature. As BDs increase, centers (BCs) 1.25 1.5 slightly shift shorter wavelengths. However, BCs strong can also be affected by saturation case large particles. collected spectra provide a useful library future investigations icy satellites such as Ganymede Callisto, targets ESA’s JUICE mission.

Shock properties of H2O ice

[1] To understand the mechanics and thermodynamics of impacts on, and collisions between, icy planetary bodies, we measured the dynamic strength and shock states in H2O ice. Here, we expand upon previous analyses and present a complete description of the phases, temperature, entropy, and sound velocity along the ice shock Hugoniot. Derived from shock wave measurements centered at initial temper...

Impact of H2SO4/H2O coating and ice crystal size on radiative properties of sub-visible cirrus

Recent laboratory experiments showed that at conditions resembling those near the tropopause region, small ice particles can be coated by a liquid H2SO4/H2O over-layer formed after the freezing of diluted sulfuric acid/water aerosol drops. Here, idealized radiative transfer tests are conducted to evaluate the impact that such an over-layer would have on the radiative effects produced by sub-vis...

Assessment of Particle-size and Temperature Effect of Nanofluid on Heat Transfer Adopting Lattice Boltzmann Model

The investigation of the effect of nanoparticles’ mean diameter and temperature of Al2O3–water nanofluid on velocity and energy field using the lattice Boltzmann method is the main objective of  this study. The temperature of the vertical walls is considered constant at Tc and Th, respectively, while the up and the down horizontal surfaces are smooth a...

Effects of Temperature and Particle Size Distribution on Barite Reduction by Carbon monoxide Gas

In this research, a mineral barite powder was reduced by carbon monoxide gas and the effects of reduction time and temperature was investigated as well as barite particle size. Results showed that the best result would be feasible when the barite particle sizes are between (-70 +100) in mesh scale. The barite reduction could reach the maximum level (98%) after reduction by carbon monoxide at 85...

Effect of Particle Size Distribution and Chemical Composition on Properties of Magnesia Chromite Bricks

The present study was undertaken to improve the quality and increase the life time of magnesia-chromite refractory bricks used in the copper and lead industries. The results show that a decrease in the amount of large chromite particles in the formulation improves the thermomechanical properties and also reduces the slag penetration in the bricks. In addition it was also observed that the use o...
