Virulence assessment of Australian Pyrenophora tritici‐repentis isolates

چکیده

Abstract The virulence of 57 Australian isolates Pyrenophora tritici ‐ repentis (Ptr), a necrotrophic fungal pathogen responsible for the major wheat disease tan spot, was assessed through plant infection assays. Isolates collected from northern, southern, and western wheat‐cropping regions Australia were evaluated against 16 bread cultivars under controlled growth conditions. Following infection, panel displayed varying symptoms ranging tiny necrotic specks to spreading chlorotic lesions. Analysis variance indicated that cultivar exhibited greater effect on response, explaining 62.7% variation, in comparison isolate (10.4%). interaction between statistically significant attributed 9.8% total variation. All Ptr examined able cause disease, but did not display clear distinction investigated, instead showing subtle differences aggressiveness. Based responses, there no obvious pattern aggressiveness cropping region. Some cultivars, such as Hydra, an effective level resistance relation tested. found possess ToxA effector gene lack ToxB gene. expression up‐regulated at 3 days postinfection both ToxA‐sensitive ‐insensitive independent ToxA– Tsn1 recognition.

Clonal analysis and virulence of Australian isolates of Streptococcus suis type 2.

Multilocus enzyme electrophoresis was used to divide 124 Australian isolates of Streptococcus suis type 2 into 17 electrophoretic types (ETs). Isolates in ET 1 were the most frequent cause of disease amongst Western Australian pigs, but isolates of ET 8 were more commonly associated with disease in other Australian states. Multiple isolates from 10 of 19 farms all belonged to the same ET, whils...

Antibiotic resistance profiles of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates containing virulence genes

Background: A most common opportunistic pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is present in both humans and animals and responsible for various nosocomial infections and healthcare settings related infections. Different virulence genes like; oprL (membrane lipoprotein L) and toxA (exotoxin A i.e. ETA) in P. aeruginosa, assist in its pathogenicity, toxicity and contribute to high antibiotic resistanc...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Virulence Factors Variation Among Bordetella Pertussis Isolates in Iran

Pertussis is still endemic and the recently resurgence of the disease caused by Bordetella pertussis has been shown in many countries. The polymorphism of the virulence genes of B. pertussis and lack of any information about the allelic variation between the Iranian isolates promotes us to analysis of the genes encoded virulence factors including ptxS1, prn, fim3 and cya to understand the diffe...
