Virtual power plant: state of the art providing energy flexibility to local distribution grids

Integrating decentralised energy sources into the traditional distribution networks can result in technical issues impacting power quality. Innovative ideas are, therefore, needed to promote transformation of systems a smart grid. Distribution System operator (DSO) could make use flexibility emerging technologies as method address these quality issues. This study aims present an overview local market (LFM) which will allow DSO requirements be fulfilled through (VPP) provider. The required optimization loads, generators and well storage units, are undertaken general algebraic modeling simulation (GAMS) environment. aim problem is provide DSOs opportunity increase or curtail generations loads order satisfy their requirement. VPP then responsible for handling relevant requests real time ensure correct operating schedule resource applied. preliminary results studies presented this paper have shown that framework potential deferring investments network capacity, minimizing costs improving hosting capacity networks.
