Bleaching primary teeth with 10% carbamide peroxide.
Bleaching teeth with 10% carbamide peroxide in a custom-fitted tray has been popular for more than 10 years. However, primary teeth are seldom considered for bleaching due to the need for compliance by the child and the natural whiteness of the primary teeth. This report describes an indication-teeth darkened from trauma-as well as the technique and outcome for bleaching discolored primary teeth.
متن کاملMineral loss and morphological changes in dental enamel induced by a 16% carbamide peroxide bleaching gel.
The aim of this study was to compare the effect of a 16% carbamide peroxide (CP) gel and a 10% CP gel on mineralized enamel content and morphology. Enamel blocks from bovine incisors were subjected to a 14-day treatment (8 h/day) with 10% or 16% CP gels. Knoop microhardness was evaluated before bleaching and at 1, 7 or 14 days after this treatment (50 g/15 s). Mineral content (energy-dispersive...
متن کاملDegradation of bleaching gels in vivo as a function of tray design and carbamide peroxide concentration.
This study determined the degradation of nine bleaching agents with different concentrations after two hours in vivo following the manufacturers' recommendations. The nine carbamide peroxide products are 10%, 15% and 20% Opalescence, 10%, 15% and 22% Rembrandt and 10%, 16% and 22% Nite White Excel 2. Each subject wore the tray with the bleaching agent for two hours on three separate occasions. ...
متن کاملGenotoxic potential of 10% and 16% carbamide peroxide in dental bleaching.
Dental bleaching has become one of the most frequently requested esthetic treatments in dental offices. Despite the high clinical success observed with this procedure, some adverse effects have been reported, including a potential for developing premalignant lesions, root resorption and tooth sensitivity, especially when misused. The aim of this study was to evaluate the genotoxic response usin...
متن کاملCytotoxicity of carbamide peroxide bleaching gel on L929 cells
Methods: Three concentrations of carbamide peroxide (10%, 16%, and 22%) used in home bleaching techniques were evaluated regarding their cytotoxic effect on gingival tissues. The materials were divided into three groups as follows: Group C10 (White Gold Home 10%, Dentsply), Group C16 (White Gold Home 16%, Dentsply, and Group C22 (Nite White 22%, ACP Discus Dental).
