چکیده
The development of a hydro-mechanically coupled Coupled-Eulerian–Lagrangian (CEL) method and its application to the back-analysis vibratory pile driving model tests in water-saturated sand is presented. predicted penetration using this approach good agreement with results as well fully Lagrangian simulations. In terms pore water pressure, however, CEL simulation show slightly worse accordance compared simulation. Some shortcomings case frictional contact problems fluids high bulk modulus are discussed. Lastly, applied open-profile piles under partially drained conditions study installation-induced changes soil state. It concluded that proposed capable realistically reproducing most important mechanisms during process despite addressed shortcomings.

Modeling of vibratory pile driving
Vibratory installation of piles and casings can be extremely economical and therefore the contractors’ preferred method of pile driving. Compared to impact pile driving it also has the advantage of reduced noise pollution. Unfortunately, this installation method is still fraught with uncertainties. The foremost question is driveability and equally important is the question of bearing capacity o...
متن کاملGroundwater recharge simulation using a coupled saturated-unsaturated flow model
Abstract The coupled MODFLOW-HYDRUS software package was used to produce a saturated-unsaturated flow model for a Flood Spreading System (FSS) and its associated aquifer. The study aim to improve simulations of near-surface hydrological processes, including temporal and spatial variation in groundwater recharge rates. The coupled model was built with average RMSE=1.1 and 1.3 for calibration ...
متن کاملBidimensional Sand Pile Model
In this paper we introduce the Bidimensional Sand Pile Model (BSPM), that is, a generalization of the Sand Pile Model (SPM) with the addition of a further dimension. The SPM and some related models have been studied in many different domains and they play an important role in the theory of discrete dynamical systems. They were considered in the context of integer lattices by Brylawski in 1973. ...
متن کاملAutomatic Controlled Vibratory Pile Driving with Shock-stress Limitation
For several decades vibratory pile driving has been extensively applied in civil engineering, e.g. in the construction of bulkheads. On urban construction sites shock waves occur which could damage nearby building structures and annoy humans. State-of-the-art machinery provides three control inputs (frequency, excitation force and surcharge force) to achieve two almost contradictory goals: fast...
