Vibration characteristics of channel steel-concrete composite girders: An experimental and numerical analysis

The broad application of steel and steel-concrete bridges has caused significant vibration noise problems. Although the channel composite girder is a commonly used bridge type, transmission performance structural optimization design (concrete deck, stiffeners, transverse connection components, etc.) from perspective control have not been well studied. In this paper, experimental numerical approaches are combined to investigate dynamic properties steel-channel in audible frequency range (20–2000 Hz). A tested via hammering. effects damping, concrete deck on evaluated using finite element method. results indicate negligible differences responses single plate, but large at different sections. influenced by distance path. reveal that increasing damping stiffness (e.g., setting stiffeners) both effective reducing vibrations. Furthermore, more prominent effect vibrations their dependence, whereas ratio can stably reduce simulation installing most approach reduction, as it decrease overall than 10 dB.
