Very sneaky crimes

Milan is an increasingly safe city. Despite this, the insecurity perceived by citizens growing. Particularly in social housing districts, squatting considered institutions, public opinion, but also most regular residents, as one of principle causes urban insecurity. Based on ethnographic research conducted between 2015 and 2017, this article proposes anthropological analysis policies, norms, practices, narratives related to governance illegality, showing how these representations contribute producing a stigmatized, morally connoted, criminalized image squatters. In broader terms, starting with case squatting, explores anthropopoietic dynamics class construction centrality moral categories production inequality.
