چکیده
The introduction of non-native species is recognized as a major threat to biodiversity, particularly in freshwater ecosystems. Pikeperch Sander lucioperca, recent invader Portugal, primarily providing commercial and angling interest. aim this work was study the diet top predator across Portuguese basins evaluate its potential impact on recipient In total, 256 pikeperch stomachs from seven were examined, which 88 (n = 34%) empty. dominated by R. rutilus, M. salmoides Diptera northern populations, while A. alburnus, P. clarkii Atyidae important prey more humid highlands. Variation most strongly linked latitude ontogeny, with both size classes showing signs cannibalism. population niche breadth remained low accompanied higher individual specialization, populations. dietary patterns denoted an opportunistic ability use locally abundant each ecosystem, dependent, larger individuals becoming piscivores, causing lotic systems. This first perspective about presents very broad view feeding traits being deepen our knowledge these introduced piscivores.

متن کاملGrowth and Diet of the Pikeperch Sander Lucioperca (l.) in Two French Reservoirs
The pikeperch Sander lucioperca (L.) is present in numerous French water bodies. However, few studies have focused on the biology and ecology of the species and, as a result, references are lacking to assess its adaptation to lacustrine environments. The growth and diet of pikeperch were investigated in two reservoirs located in southern France. The fish at both sites show similar growth rates ...
