Photometric Study of Variable Stars in the Open Cluster NGC
We report the discovery of 19 variable stars and two blue–stragglers in the field of the open cluster NGC 6866. Three of the variable stars we classify as δ Sct, two, as γ Dor, four, as W UMa, two, as ellipsoidal variables, and one, as an eclipsing binary. Seven stars show irregular variability. Two of the pulsators, a δ Sct star NGC 6866-29 and a γ Dor star NGC 6866-21, are multiperiodic. From...
متن کاملSearch for variable stars in the open cluster NGC 7654
Time-series CCD photometry of the open cluster NGC 7654 was performed over five nights from October 2nd to 18th, 1997 U.T., in order to search for new variable stars. We also carried out UBV photometric observations to obtain physical parameters of variable stars in the cluster. We have derived the distance modulus of (V − MV )◦ = 10.9 ± 0.2 and the interstellar reddening of E(B − V ) = 0.62 ± ...
متن کاملVariable Stars in the Field of the Globular Cluster Ngc
We report on the discovery and analysis of 14 short-period variable stars in the field of the southern globular cluster NGC 3201, located within roughly two magnitudes on either side of the main-sequence turnoff. 11 of these variable stars are eclipsing binaries, one is an RR Lyrae, and two are thus far unclassified systems. Among the eclipsing binary stars, nine are of the W Ursa Majoris (W UM...
متن کاملVariable stars in the field of the open cluster NGC 7789
Fifteen variable stars have been discovered during four nights of monitoring of NGC 7789. It was possible to determine periods for ten of these variables. Seven objects are W UMa-type binaries, in this number five are members of the cluster. Among the remaining variables, there are three further close binaries, one Scuti which is a Blue Straggler in the cluster, and one multi-modal variable (wi...
متن کاملPhotometry of Variable Stars in the Globular Cluster NGC 6397
Time series BV I photometry is presented for 16 short-period variables located in the central region of the globular cluster NGC 6397. The sample includes 9 newly detected variables. The light curve of cataclysmic variable CV6 shows variability with a period of 0.2356 days. We confirm an earlier reported period of 0.472 days for cataclysmic variable CV1. Phased light curves of both CVs exhibit ...
