Value of blood pressure measurement earlier versus later in life to predict cardiovascular mortality

چکیده
Abstract Hypertension is a potent risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. High blood pressure (BP) correlates closely with all-cause The purpose of this study was to compare the value systolic earlier versus later in life predict In observation (OS) we prospectively recorded fatal events over up 19 years 1282 patients whom 570 had Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) at baseline. These participated health survey (HS) 15 prior OS BP measured both HS baseline OS. We found that increase mortality matched linear way but not case assessed (figure). A cox regression analysis revealed each millimeter mercury (mm Hg) increased death by 2% (HR = 1.02 [1.01–1.03], p<0.001). Applying stratification presence MetS, groups significant predictor (HRMetS [1.01–1.02], p<0.001 HRnoMetS contrast, as significantly associated during follow-up neither total population nor any subgroup 1.00 [0.99–1.01], p=0.652; HRMetS p=0.468 p=4.66). thus conclude better than life. securitization of mortality risks in life annuities
insurers have in the past few decades faced longevity risks - the risk that annuitants survive more than expected - and therefore need a new approach to manage this new risk. in this dissertation we survey methods that hedge longevity risks. these methods use securitization to manage risk, so using modern financial and insurance pricing models, especially wang transform and actuarial concepts, ...

BACKGROUND Hypertension is common and contributes to high cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients. It is unknown which blood pressure (BP) better defines the influence on cardiovascular mortality. The purpose of our study was to analyze the relationship between various BP measurements, traditional risk factors, markers of asymptomatic atherosclerosis [left ventricul...
متن کاملPatterns of blood flow may predict high blood pressure in later life.
Many Africans in South Africa have high blood pressure. Knowing that how the heart and blood vessels respond to activity can be linked to high blood pressure in later life, we studied the heart and blood vessels of Black South African children. Our results showed that some of the children, when active, had a higher rate of blood flow through their blood vessels compared to others in their group...
متن کامل[Home blood pressure measurement and ambulatory blood pressure measurement versus office blood pressure measurement].
PURPOSE To compare both home blood pressure measurement (HBPM) and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) with office blood pressure measurement (OBP); and also to compare the correlation between HBPM and OBP with LVMI (left ventricular mass index). METHODS Protocol 1--68 hypertensive patients (58 +/- 12 years, 37 females): a) self recorded blood pressure at home in the 7 days; b) record...
متن کاملCardiovascular Risk in Hypertension in Relation to Achieved Blood Pressure Using Automated Office Blood Pressure Measurement.
The SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial) reported that some older, higher risk patients might benefit from a target systolic blood pressure (BP) of <120 versus <140 mm Hg. However, it is not yet known how the BP target and measurement methods used in SPRINT relate to cardiovascular outcomes in real-world practice. SPRINT used the automated office BP technique, which requires the ...
