Valorization of pulp and paper industry wastewater using sludge enriched with nitrogen‐fixing bacteria

چکیده

Nitrogen-fixing bacteria (NFB) can reduce nitrogen at ambient pressure and temperature. In this study, we treated effluent from a paper mill in sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) monitored the abundance activity of NFB with view to producing sludge that could work as biofertilizer. Four were inoculated activated enriched fed high C/N waste (100:0.5) mill. Though able organic load wastewater by up 89%, they did not have any nitrogen-fixing showed decrease putative number (quantified qPCR). The most abundant species treating was identified Illumina MiSeq 16S rRNA gene amplicon Methyloversatilis sp. (relative 4.4%). Nitrogen fixation observed when ratio increased adding sucrose. We suspect real-world biological (BNF) will only occur where there is ≤100:0.07. Consequently, operators should actively avoid or allowing streams if wish valorize their running costs. Practitioner points Efficient treatment low achieved without nutrient supplementation. still capable fixing although process system. This technology be used effluents cassava flour, olive oil, wine dairy industries.

Treatability Studies on Hybrid Up - Flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor for Pulp and Paper Mill Wastewater

In India, Pulp & paper industries have been large uses of portable water and consequently large generator of waste water. Anaerobic treatment of paper processing waste water has a distinct advantage of recovery of inherent energy in the form of methane gas with much less sludge production. A hybrid reactor that capitalizes on the positive features of anaerobic filter(AF) and up-flow anaerobic s...

Isolation and Screening of Polyhydroxyalkanoates Producing Bacteria from Pulp, Paper, and Cardboard Industry Wastes

Background. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are storage materials that accumulate by various bacteria as energy and carbon reserve materials. They are biodegradable, environmentally friendly, and also biocompatible bioplastics. Unlike petrochemical-based plastics that take several decades to fully degrade, PHAs can be completely degraded within a year by variety of microorganisms into CO2 and wate...

Effect of Metal Salt Coagulants on Treatment of Activated Sludge Effluent in Sulfite Mill Pulp and Paper Plant

Pulp and paper effluents are considered as serious environmental hazards and their treatment, because of multiplicity of impurities and complexity of their chemical structures, is one of the most difficult and inconvenient industrial processes. As the most pulp and paper mill work on kraft process, there are few studies in literature on the treatment of neural sulfite semi chemical (NSSC) p...
