Validity and Reliability Study of School Principals’ Competence-Based Job Performance Perceptions Scale

This study aimed to develop a measurement tool determine the job performance perceptions of school principals based on their own competence. The list School Principals Standards developed for Organization Economic Cooperation and Development [OECD] has been used in many OECD countries but not Turkey there is no adapted Turkish Education System. In addition, since questionnaire or scale form, that examines principals’ competencies, therefore development such this study. First, was Turkey, then items be were written by taking expert opinions. carried out with process consisting eight stages, suitable System developed. called “School Principals’ Competency-Based Job Performance Perceptions Scale” firstly administered 182 participants validity, reliability, Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) scale, secondly other 145 Confirmatory (CFA). It determined reliability level high Cronbach α (0.959) coefficient. As result EFA, six-dimensional 41 obtained. variance explanation rate six factors calculated as 59.66%. goodness fit values model CFA performed test construct validity factor structure obtained provide good sufficient criteria. results prove valid reliable.
