چکیده
Background: Overall, there are over 30 different sexually transmitted infections with Neisseria gonorrhoeae being the third most frequent a reported 78 million cases per year. Gonococcal infection causes genital inflammation, which can be risk factor for others infections, particularly human immunodeficiency virus. Gonorrhea is treatable disease, but recently an increase in antibiotic resistance has been of concern. There currently no vaccines available. However, parenteral vaccination anti N. meningitidis serogroup B vaccine to decrease incidence gonococcal burden New Zealand and Cuba despite fact that not deemed induce mucosal IgA. Here we explore possible mechanisms protection against through meningococcal vaccination. Methods: Ninety-two serum, saliva oropharyngeal swabs samples young adults (healthy carriers) internal higher school were obtained. They have vaccinated VA-MENGOC-BC (MBV) during their infancy boosted dose this study. Serum analyzed by ELISA Western blot measured IgG IgA antibodies antigens. carriers determined standard microbiologic test. In addition, reviewed epidemiologic data Cuba. Results: Epidemiologic show influence MBV gonorrhea suggesting dependent sexual arrival age syphilis. Laboratorial permit detection 70 22 noncarriers meningitidis, respectively. anti-MBV antigens (PL) responses independent carriage stages, anti-PL only present significant induced subjects. Carriers similar antigonococcal -PL serum responses; meanwhile, was significantly lower. saliva, at least 2 identified blot. Finally, gonococcal-specific antibody responses, addition antibodies, might contributed reduction gonorrhoeae. We hypothesize observed reductions Conclusion: These results suggest mechanism Proteoliposome-based BC on incidence.

Vaccination strategies for mucosal immune responses.
Mucosal administration of vaccines is an important approach to the induction of appropriate immune responses to microbial and other environmental antigens in systemic sites and peripheral blood as well as in most external mucosal surfaces. The development of specific antibody- or T-cell-mediated immunologic responses and the induction of mucosally induced systemic immunologic hyporesponsiveness...

Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the gonococcus, is a gram-negative diplococcus which causes the sexually transmitted disease gonorrhea (Figure 1). The contagious nature of gonococcal infection remains a major global health problem and represents 88 million new cases every year (WHO, 2011). N. gonorrhoeae is transmitted by human to human contact and is highly adapted to the genital tract, surviving poorl...

Objective(s): After decades of containment, pertussis disease, caused by Bordetella pertussis seems to be re-emerging and still remains a major cause of reported vaccine-preventable deaths worldwide. The current licensed whole-cell vaccines display reactogenicity while acellular vaccines are expensive and do not induce Th1-type immune responses that are required for optimum protection against t...
