Utilizing Game Theory to Optimize In-motion Wireless Charging Service Efficiency for Electric Vehicles

Charger lanes, which are road segments equipped with in-motion wireless chargers, expected to keep Electric Vehicles (EVs) continuously driving without recharging downtime. To maximize the service efficiency of we must properly coordinate traffic EVs avoid generation congestion at charger lanes and on them. In this article, propose WPT-Opt , a game-theoretic approach for optimizing charging efficiency, minimizing EVs’ time charger, avoiding fulfill task. We studied metropolitan-scale dataset public transportation observed spatial temporal preference in selecting competition chargers during busy times, relationship between vehicle density velocity segment, normal distribution travel segments, fact that vehicles have similar frequently driven trajectories. Based observations, central controller estimates by measuring vehicles’ trajectory time, friendship among vehicles, routing choice given presence lanes. Then, formulate non-cooperative Stackelberg game all each EV aims its cost selected target while tries maximally way through chargers. Our trace-driven experiments SUMO demonstrate can reduce average approximately 200% different hours day.
