چکیده
Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) is one of the most popular coffees among Acehnese, an ethnic group from Aceh, Indonesia. The amount consumed directly proportional to waste produced. Spent grounds are residue obtained during brewing process. can be utilized by converting them into active charcoal adsorbents. This study aimed produce activated spent arabica (SACG), utilize it as ingredient in liquid bath soap formulations, and determine best formula. characterization was conducted compared Indonesian National Standard (SNI). contains SACG divided five formulas with various concentrations cocamidopropyl betaine (CAPB) sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) surfactants. Furthermore, evaluation formula performed. results showed that produced met SNI requirements a yield 86.3%, volatile substance content 10.67%, water 5.67%, ash 1.7%, pure carbon 81.96%, iodium absorption 1522.8 mg/g. revealed containing combination 5% CAPB SLS (F5) requirements. used excellent raw material for formulations.

Utilization of spent coffee grounds for isolation and stabilization of Paenibacillus chitinolyticus CKS1 cellulase by immobilization
This study has explored the feasibility of using spent coffee grounds as a good supporting material for the Paenibacillus chitinolyticus CKS1 cellulase immobilization. An optimal operational conditions in a batch-adsorption system were found to be: carrier mass of 12 g/L, under the temperature of 45 °C and no pH adjustments. The immobilization yield reached about 71%. An equilibrium establishme...
متن کاملValorisation of spent coffee grounds as CO 2 adsorbents for postcombustion capture applications
In this work spent coffee grounds from single-use capsules were used as the starting material for producing low-cost activated carbons. The activation conditions were selected and optimised to produce microporous carbons with high CO2 adsorption capacity and selectivity, thus with potential to be used as adsorbents in postcombustion CO2 capture applications. Two activation methods are compared:...
متن کاملSpent Coffee Grounds as Adsorbents for Pesticide Paraquat Removal from its Aqueous Solutions
Spent coffee grounds were evaluated for adsorption efficiency in the removal of pesticide paraquat from its aqueous solutions. The influence of the adsorbent mass, agitation time, paraquat concentration and pH have been investigated in the batch sorption mode. Adsorption capacity (mg/g) has been found to be 27.87 ± 1.57 mg/g, while the removal efficiency has resulted of 32.25 ± 1.79 %. Adsorpti...
متن کاملA Decolorization Technique with Spent “Greek Coffee” Grounds as Zero-Cost Adsorbents for Industrial Textile Wastewaters
In this study, the decolorization of industrial textile wastewaters was studied in batch mode using spent “Greek coffee” grounds (COF) as low-cost adsorbents. In this attempt, there is a cost-saving potential given that there was no further modification of COF (just washed with distilled water to remove dirt and color, then dried in an oven). Furthermore, tests were realized both in synthetic a...
