Utilization of biosilica for energy-saving tire compounds: Enhancing performance and efficiency

Abstract Energy-saving tires have been developed by researchers in the industry order to minimize hysteresis loss. In general, this is achieved combining precipitated silica sourced from sand with a silane coupling agent. This strategic reaction serves elevate performance characteristics of tread tire, effectively enhancing their properties. Therefore, research aimed investigate utilization commercially available biosilica compared high dispersed (HD) silica, examining potential as reinforcing agents composition passenger tire compound. compound was formulated using blend solution styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) and butadiene (BR). A comprehensive analysis conducted assess impact varying ratios between HD on mechanical dynamic properties composed SSBR BR blend. The results showed that incorporation could reduce filler network resulting better dispersion SSBR/BR matrix. As result, it improved wet grip (44%) rolling resistance (26%) while maintaining abrasion application an eco-friendly reinforcement material exhibited its for elevating energy-efficient tire.
