Using Stories to Teach Hijab to Elementary School Girls: A Qualitative Evaluative Study

Objective: This study aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of reading stories in teaching hijab to elementary school girls. Method: evaluative was conducted with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method, data obtained from semi-structured interviews 67 female students aged 8 11 years 6 provinces Iran were analyzed by using Strauss Corbin coding method. Findings: The findings during three stages coding, terms 851 concepts, 54 categories, themes, categorized four levels, derived Kirkpatrick’s model evaluation criteria content desirability, under titles reaction (study attractiveness), learning (usefulness knowledge), understanding readiness for action (practical usefulness). themes first level included ‘expressing interest characters story̕, satisfaction performance story̕ story book̕. In second level, two ‘learning consequences observing not hijab’ other good behaviors’ brought about occurrence learning. third showed audiences̕ story, ‘understanding reasons Laleh’s anger her reluctance wear hijab̕, wrongness behavior making better decision instead her̕ , final acceptance Laleh̕ this level. Finally, ‘tendency persuade Laleh observe hijab’, ‘participation changing going on expand introduce book others’ formed fourth Conclusion: According findings, use artistic tools such as books will bring effective valuable results transferring religious moral .
