چکیده
Abstract An observing system simulation experiment (OSSE) was performed to assess the impact of assimilating hyperspectral infrared (IR) radiances from geostationary orbit on numerical weather prediction, with a focus proposed sounder board Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) program’s central satellite. Infrared sounders platform would fill several gaps left by IR polar-orbiting satellites, and increased temporal resolution allow observation phenomena evolution. The framework for this OSSE Global Modeling Assimilation Office (GMAO) system, which includes full suite meteorological observations. additionally assimilated four identical create “ring” vertical profiling Based experimentation, assimilation provided beneficial analyzed mass wind fields, particularly in tropics, produced an error reduction initial 24–48 h subsequent forecasts. Regularized Image Reconstruction for Geostationary Atmospheric Sounders
The concept of microwave sounding from geostationary orbit is now over three decades old and many projects are currently under studies at frequency bands of oxygen (54, 118 and 425 GHz) and water vapor (183 and 380 GHz). The primary advantage of a Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) for remote sensing, compared with a Low-Earth Orbit (LEO), is that continuous monitoring is possible over a large are...
متن کاملEvaluate The Behavior of PIN infrared detector via COMSOL software
Infrared detectors can be used for a variety of applications such as: using in fiber-optic communications. Conventional technology for IR detectors is using p-i-n structure based on GaAs compound. This paper reports on the design and modeling of an IR detector using a p-i-n GaAs structure. Comsol software is used to simulate the model and the detector is discussed for terminal current, dopant p...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Monitoring tropospheric pollution using infrared spectroscopy from geostationary orbit
This paper presents the Geostationary Fourier Imaging Spectrometer (GeoFIS), a new satellite instrument that has been proposed to monitor tropospheric key pollutants (O3, CO) in order to improve the predictive capability of tropospheric chemistry models. The horizontal resolution of GeoFIS is about 15× 15 km2 and the temporal resolution is about 60 minutes. It is shown that the current instrume...
