Using noise to augment synchronization among oscillators

Abstract Noise is expected to play an important role in the dynamics of analog systems such as coupled oscillators which have recently been explored a hardware platform for application computing. In this work, we experimentally investigate effect noise on synchronization relaxation and their computational properties. Specifically, contrast its typically adverse effect, first demonstrate that common white input induces frequency locking among uncoupled oscillators. Experiments show minimum voltage required induce increases linearly with amplitude oscillator output whereas it decreases increasing number Further, our work reveals system oscillators—relevant solving problems graph coloring, injection helps reduce capacitive coupling strength. With noise, demonstrates along desired phase-based properties at 5 × lower strength than when no external introduced. Consequently, can footprint element corresponding area-intensive architecture. Our shows be utilized effective knob optimize implementation oscillator-based computing platforms.

Noise-enhanced phase synchronization of chaotic oscillators.

The effects of noise on phase synchronization (PS) of coupled chaotic oscillators are explored. In contrast to coupled periodic oscillators, noise is found to enhance phase synchronization significantly below the threshold of PS. This constructive role of noise has been verified experimentally with chaotic electrochemical oscillators of the electrodissolution of Ni in sulfuric acid solution.
