USING LITERARY TEXTS IN NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE TEACHING

The use of literary texts in teaching language has varied from the strict focus on translation and essential grammar vocabulary lists derived text to more creative uses like acting, writing debating. Nowadays, communicative approach prevails most classrooms insists immersing students into both target culture. In this paper, author argues that accomplish this, one can a number ways help learn, practice master various skills, while at same time relating students' interests, goals lived experiences them relate society whose they are learning. Literature is presented as great source authentic material contribute enrichment cultural awareness. According data obtained research conducted for purpose learning Norwegian by extensive literature reported better understanding culture, raised awareness different patterns improved skills. pedagogical implications should be used classroom boost successful acquisition.
