Using AI to predict calibration constants for the central drift chamber in GlueX at Jefferson Lab

چکیده

Abstract The AI for Experimental Controls project team at Jefferson Lab has developed an system to control and calibrate a large drift chamber in near-real time. will monitor environmental experimental variables recommend voltage settings that maintain consistent dE/dx gain optimal resolution throughout the experiment. At present, calibrations are performed after data have been recorded require considerable amount of time attention from experts. currently multiple iterations depend on accurate tracking information. Our approach uses data, such as atmospheric pressure gas temperature, beam conditions, flux incident particles, inputs Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) model. For taken during GlueX 2020 run period, GPR is able predict existing correction factors within 3.5%. This talk briefly describe development, testing, future plans this Lab.

Neutron Transversity at Jefferson Lab

Nucleon transversity and single transverse spin asymmetries have been the recent focus of large efforts by both theorists and experimentalists. On-going and planned experiments from HERMES, COMPASS and RHIC are mostly on the proton or the deuteron. Presented here is a planned measurement of the neutron transversity and single target spin asymmetries at Jefferson Lab in Hall A using a transverse...

The Timing Synchronization System at Jefferson Lab

* This work was supported by the U.S. DOE contract No. DE-AC05-84-ER40150 Abstract This paper presents the requirements and design of a Timing Synchronization System (TSS) for the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF) control system at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. A clock module has been designed which resides in a VME crate. The clock module can be a communic...

The Gpd Experimental Program at Jefferson Lab

Recent results on the Generalized Parton Distribution (GPD) program at Jefferson Lab (JLab) will be presented. The emphasis will be in the Hall A program aiming at measuring Q−dependences of different terms of the Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) cross section. This is a fundamental step before one can extract GPD information from JLab DVCS data. The upcoming program in Hall A, using bo...

QCD in Nuclear Processes at Jefferson Lab

The scientific program at Jefferson Lab to probe the properties of QCD in the nuclear environment is outlined. The experimental facilities are described and recent results are presented including measurements of color transparency and medium modifications of vector mesons. The evidence for the onset of color transparency is modest and changes to the mass and width of the ρ meson in heavy nuclei...

The N * Physics Program at Jefferson Lab

Recent measurements of nucleon resonance transition form factors with CLAS at Jefferson Lab are discussed. The new data confirm the assertion of the symmetric constituent quark model of the Roper as the first radial excitation of the nucleon. The data on high Q nπ production better constrain the branching ratios βNπ and βNη for the S11(1535). For the first time, the longitudinal transition ampl...
