User-Adapted Web Services by Extending the eIDAS Specification with Functional Attributes

To provide web services adapted to the users’ functional capabilities, diversity must be considered from conceptualization and design phases of services’ development. In previous work, we proposed a model that allows provisioning interfaces based on identity their attributes facilitate this task for software designers developers. However, these identities are self-declared by users, which may impact reliability usability. propose an extension our resolve deficiencies delegating attributes’ provision external certified entities. The European electronic Identification, Authentication Trust Services (eIDAS) regulation established solution ensure cross-border mutual recognition Electronic Identification (eID) mechanisms among Member States. This research aims mentioned above support connect previously extended eIDAS network. Thanks proposal, can guarantee personalized while improving functionalities offered without any configuration users and, in reliable way, since belong official eID. As attribute set provided nodes only contains citizens’ personal legal ones, also mechanism network providers could extend profile with attributes. We deployed pilot validate consisting provider, node supporting reference code, provider designed implemented simple service supports eID authentication serves retrieved profile. Finally, developed experience getting feedback real different capabilities. According results, concluded generalized adoption digital will significantly improve accessibility terms ease use adaptability capacities.
