Usefulness of ultrasonography in diagnosing abdominal trauma compared to computed tomography scan

Background: Abdominal trauma following road traffic accident is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among all age groups. Imaging such as ultrasonography (USG) computed tomography (CT) scan plays critical role in the evaluation these patients. The accuracy CT hemodynamically stable blunt patients has been well-established. Aims Objectives: Assessment usefulness USG diagnosing abdominal with reference to involvement different organs terms sensitivity, specificity, predictive compared scan. Materials Methods: It hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted on 87 imaging sonology room under Department Radiodiagnosis, Bankura Sammilani Medical College Hospital, Bankura, West Bengal time frame years. Conclusion: When findings scan, which taken gold standard, it observed that fairly sensitive solid organ (especially when grades higher), but showed less lower injuries hollow visceral (such bowel bladder).
