Use of nitrogen sufficiency index to estimate topdressing doses for common bean

ABSTRACT Portable chlorophyll meters can be used to improve the prediction of nitrogen (N) doses for common bean. This study aimed evaluate two (Minolta SPAD-502 and ClorofiLOG CFL 1030) predict topdressing N Pérola, TAA Gol BRSMG Uai cultivars VR 20 line. Eight field experiments (four genotypes devices) were carried out in a randomized blocks design, with four replicates, being treatments applications corresponding sufficiency indices. There discrepancies between indices obtained by different devices same genotype, as well among those device studied. Thus, when index is define doses, genotype meter must considered. In addition, recommended 95 % should not generalized all reduced.
