Use of Controlled-Release Urea to Improve Yield, Nitrogen Utilization, and Economic Return and Reduce Nitrogen Loss in Wheat-Maize Crop Rotations

چکیده
Excessive nitrogen (N) fertilizer input has become a common phenomenon among most farmers in the winter wheat–summer maize rotation system of north-central China, and resulted low nutrient use efficiency environmental pollution. Controlled-release urea (CRU) is proposed as solution to excessive fertilization because CRU achieves high yields reduces N losses. Therefore, mixed with normal at rates based on Nutrient Expert (NE) was used 4-year field experiment test preference crop yields, economic benefits, efficiencies, The following treatments were established: local farmers’ practices (FP); rate recommended by NE (NE); ratios 60:40 (CRU1) 75:25 (CRU2) system; 80% NE, CRU1 CRU2 (80%NE, 80%CRU1 80%CRU2). results showed that, compared treatment same application N, increased net benefits while reducing loss. 60% for 75% wheat had best overall effects. Compared FP, average grain yield, recovery 8.5%, 10.9% 11.3%, respectively, CRU1, 4.5%, 15.1% 10.3%, CRU2. Furthermore, significantly reduced loss from 38.5% 40.3% but soil NO3?-N NH4+-N contents 0–30 cm, although opposite (NO3?-N) observed deeper (30–90 cm). In 80%CRU2, yield equivalent those FP treatment, apparent reduced. Thus, these confirmed that combination China efficient valuable, potential improve benefit

Impact of controlled release urea on maize yield and nitrogen use efficiency under different water conditions
Controlled release urea (CRU) has been widely adopted to increase nitrogen (N) use efficiency and maize production, but the impacts can range widely depending on water availability in the soil. In an experiment using Zhengdan 958 (a popular summer maize hybrid), three levels of water treatments (adequate water condition [W3], which maintained soil moisture at about 75% ± 5% of the soil's field ...
متن کاملNitrogen yield and nitrogen use of chickpea compared to pea, barley and oat in Central Europe
European agriculture suffers from a substantial deficit of protein sources forlivestock and the projected changes in agro-climatic conditions in Central Europeinclude a higher risk of drought. To address these challenges, the drought resistantlegume crop chickpea was compared with pea, barley and oat regarding its nitrogen(N) yield, protein yield and N use and utilization efficiency under Centr...
متن کاملResponses of Nitrogen Utilization and Apparent Nitrogen Loss to Different Control Measures in the Wheat and Maize Rotation System
Nitrogen (N) is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and excessive application rates can decrease crop yield and increase N loss into the environment. Field experiments were carried out to understand the effects of N fertilizers on N utilization, crop yield and net income in wheat and maize rotation system of the North China Plain (NCP). Compared to farmers' N rate (FN), the yield of whe...
متن کاملEffect of crop residue and nitrogen levels in yield and yield attributing traits of rice under Rice-Wheat Cropping System
A 3- years (2015, 2016 and 2017) field study was carried out at National Wheat Research Program, Bhirahawa, Rupandehi, Nepal to evaluate the influence of crop residues and nitrogen levels on rice. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replications. Main plots were two crop residue levels (with crop residues of 30 cm wheat stubble and without crop residues) and sub plots c...

Rice (Oryza sativa) and wheat (Triticum aestivum) are the two most commercially important crops, accounting for more than 40% of global food production. They were domesticated in different climates and differ largely in their growth environments: Rice is tropically cultivated in hot, wet climates, whereas wheat tends to be grown in cooler temperate climates. However, both crops have been bred i...
