Use of blood residue as alternative source of phosphorus in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) cultivation

ABSTRACT The aim of this work was to increase the aerial part, biometry, and yield achenes from sunflower plants on effect increasing doses blood residue, as an alternative source phosphorus (P), in a clayey-textured red Oxisol. experimental design used randomized blocks, with six treatments four replications. consisted five residue (0, 6, 12, 24 48m3 ha-1) control treatment that received phosphate chemical fertilization, 80kg ha-1 P2O5. fertilization do not show disproportionality for P concentration soil, leaf, plant height (PH), stem diameter (SD), chapter (CD) achene production. analysis principal component (PC) revealed first PC presents greatest accumulated variation (74%). Based PC, dose 12m-3 has greater influence PH, SC, CD. Due biometric characteristics plants, (12m-3 = 98.4kg ha-1), can be cultivation clayey oxisols.
