Use Case of Water Reservoir Protection as a Critical Infrastructure Element in Slovakia Using a Quantitative Approach

Water management systems play a crucial role in efficiently allocating water resources while taking into account various demands such as agriculture, industry, domestic use, and environmental needs. These optimize the distribution of water, ensuring fair access minimizing scarcity conflicts. However, these critical are vulnerable to different types attacks. Depending on target, attacks can take form physical, cyber, or combined assaults. The protection requirements for objects, which integral infrastructure, primarily defined by legal regulations, technical standards, other third party requirements. necessitate implementation protective measures. One effective approach implementing measures is through physical system (PPS), prevents unauthorized individuals from achieving their objectives. current procedures protecting objects be based either qualitative quantitative approach. In this article, we present use case that demonstrates possible method specific reservoir, identified national element infrastructure Drinking Provision subsector. involves analyzing security designing PPS reservoir. To assess effectiveness proposed PPS, model was developed using specialized software. Additionally, four potential attack scenarios were simulated verify functionality PPS.
