چکیده

In carnation, vase life is shortened due to ethylene and water stress, resulting in petal curling, browning, wilting symptoms. Preservative solutions are used prolong the of cut flowers world, natural substances with antimicrobial properties have been preferred as preservatives recent years. It thought that benefiting from plant wastes will be beneficial for both flower industry waste management because they natural. This research was carried out determine effect grape marc extract (GME) on carnation. D. caryophyllus cv. 'Baltico' a material. The plants were placed vases containing two different concentrations GME (100 µL L-1, 200 L-1). life, relative fresh weight (RFW), daily solution uptake (DSU), lipid peroxidation, proline content, antioxidant enzyme activities measured during at end experiment. study, it determined effective carnation L-1 concentration (22.67 days) extended by 6.50 days 40.2% compared control (16.17 days), (distilled water). At same time, found post-harvest stress mechanisms flowers. improved increasing DSU, activities, reducing RFW loss. also reduced accumulation MDA proline.

Stress-induced Ethylene Production in Flower Parts of Cut Carnation Flowers Cv. Light Pink Tasman

Ethylene is a plant hormone with endogenous production associated with the process of senescence for a number of cut flowers. Different stressogenic factors, including signals such as pollination, exogenous ethylene and auxins have been found to be associated with the increase in ethylene emission and a specific tissue response has been documented. The present study was undertaken with the aim ...
