Abstract Background Fruit and vegetables are highly perishable. In an era where reducing food waste is absolutely essential, packaging important for maintaining the postharvest quality of these fresh products. Research working to reduce use synthetic materials, not safe environment human health. this perspective, chitosan emerges as a viable solution purpose, it biodegradable, biocompatible also application.
