Upwelling Impact on Sardinella lemuru during the Indian Ocean Dipole in the Bali Strait, Indonesia

Understanding the impact of Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) on fishery around Indonesia is important as resources are small compared to demand. In this study, we analyzed effect positive and negative phases IOD chlorophyll-a concentration catch Sardinella lemuru in Bali Strait. Data based field surveys Strait during phase Sea Surface Temperature (SST) Chlorophyll (SSC) obtained from analysis satellite images. The results suggest that SSC strait significantly correlates with IOD, possibly through a change upwelling downwelling there. It suggested phytoplankton biomass due would result an increase This research has direct implications information for government planning fisheries management oceanographic studies climate phenomena.
