Updated seismic hazard curves, maps, and spectra for the northern Dominican Republic using a probabilistic seismic hazard analysis

This article presents updated seismic hazard curves, spectra, and maps of ground motion intensity measures for the northern region Dominican Republic (DR) obtained using a probabilistic analysis (PSHA). The performed uses as input data an earthquake recurrence model based on fault slip rates derived from GPS measurements published in aftermath 2010 Haiti earthquake. seismicity rate are used to calibrate composite characteristic model, which is combined with Poisson process provide temporal characterization occurrence. curves presented include parameters such (horizontal) peak acceleration pseudo-spectral response accelerations at 0.2s 1.0s periods 5% damping firm rock sites. results show that 2% probability exceedance (PE) 50 years determined this study up 46% larger than corresponding specified current DR building code DR.
