Update on Angiolytic Laser Laryngeal Surgery

چکیده
There are several lasers available for office-based or suspension microlaryngoscopy laser procedures in the treatment of laryngeal diseases. Each has advantages and disadvantages given depth penetration per unit power, absorption water, spectral characteristics, mode delivery, safety, cost. It is important to note that while proper selection indication based on a wavelength critical, equal importance selecting appropriate power setting, focal length (or spot size), time exposure. The photoangiolytic precisely target hemoglobin within microcirculation highly vascularized tissue may have better hemostatic effects preservation surrounding normal than CO2 laser. Although choice purely theoretical cannot be accurately concluded which parameters (wattage pulse width) were best use, surgery safe effective specific lesions. In this review, indications various diseases, settings surgical techniques lesions including sulcus vocalis, dysplasia, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis will introduced. Pros cons in-office using flexible also addressed.

Transoral Laser Surgery for Laryngeal Cancer
Transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) was pioneered in the early 1970s as an approach to treat laryngeal pathology with precision and minimal thermal damage to the vocal cords. Over the last four decades, TLM has become an integral part of the treatment paradigm for patients with laryngeal cancer. TLM is one of the primary treatment options for early-stage laryngeal tumors. However, in recent year...

Tim LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation), was first introduced into medicine about a decade ago, and within this relatively short time, has added a new dimension to medical science. A variety of substances (solids and gases) can stimulate laser emissions. Lasers vary in wavelength and physical properties. These variations make them useful for a variety of clinical and...

INTRODUCTION The laser is an important surgical tool in otolaryngology. It is commonly used for a variety of laryngeal lesions, as well as other aspects of otolaryngology. When used appropriately, advantages of lasers include precision, decreased bleeding, better hemostasis, minimal instrumentation, quicker recovery, and less pain. Disadvantages include surrounding thermal damage, airway fire, ...
