Unpredictability in seasonal infectious diseases spread

چکیده

In this work, we study the unpredictability of seasonal infectious diseases considering a SEIRS model with forcing. To investigate dynamical behaviour, compute bifurcation diagrams type hysteresis and their respective Lyapunov exponents. Our results from bifurcations largest exponent show bistable dynamics for all parameters model. Choosing inverse latent period as control parameter, over 70% interval comprises coexistence periodic chaotic attractors, dynamics. Despite competition between these ones are preferred. The bistability occurs in two wide regions. One regions is limited by while attractors bound other. As boundary second region composed it possible to interpret critical points tipping points. other words, depending on period, attractor (predictability) can evolve (unpredictability). Therefore, that associated preferably chaotic, and, furthermore, there point unpredictable

Global Spread of Infectious Diseases

We develop simple models for the global spread of infectious diseases, emphasizing human mobility via air travel and the variation of public health infrastructure from region to region. We derive formulas relating the total and peak number of infections in two countries to the rate of travel between them and their respective epidemiological parameters.

Seasonal Patterns of Infectious Diseases

0018 Meningococcal meningitis in western Africa shows recurrent seasonal patterns every year. Epidemics typically start at the beginning of February and last until May. We can try to explain the observed patterns on the basis of some seasonally varying environmental factor that favors disease transmission. Air dryness produced by strong dust winds is the most likely candidate. But while there a...

Spread of infectious diseases through clustered populations

Networks of person-person contacts form the substrate along which infectious diseases spread. Most network-based studies of the spread focus on the impact of variations in degree (the number of contacts an individual has). However, other effects such as clustering, variations in infectiousness or susceptibility, or variations in closeness of contacts may play a significant role. We develop anal...

Numerical solution of the spread of infectious diseases mathematical model based on shifted Bernstein polynomials

The Volterra delay integral equations have numerous applications in various branches of science, including biology, ecology, physics and modeling of engineering and natural sciences. In many cases, it is difficult to obtain analytical solutions of these equations. So, numerical methods as an efficient approximation method for solving Volterra delay integral equations are of interest to many res...
