Nonlocal Problems with Neumann Boundary Conditions
We introduce a new Neumann problem for the fractional Laplacian arising from a simple probabilistic consideration, and we discuss the basic properties of this model. We can consider both elliptic and parabolic equations in any domain. In addition, we formulate problems with nonhomogeneous Neumann conditions, and also with mixed Dirichlet and Neumann conditions, all of them having a clear probab...
متن کاملSkorokhod-Neumann Boundary Conditions in Robust Queueing Service Models
We introduce the idea of boundary extremals (3.9) in control problems for simple fluid models of queueing systems with Skorokohd dynamics, using the robust formulation of [2, 4]. A simple example is presented in which these extremals play a fundamental role in the construction of the optimal control strategy.
متن کاملResonances and Balls in Obstacle Scattering with Neumann Boundary Conditions
We consider scattering by an obstacle in Rd, d ≥ 3 odd. We show that for the Neumann Laplacian if an obstacle has the same resonances as the ball of radius ρ does, then the obstacle is a ball of radius ρ. We give related results for obstacles which are disjoint unions of several balls of the same radius.
متن کاملStationary solutions and Neumann boundary conditions in the Sivashinsky equation.
New stationary solutions of the (Michelson) Sivashinsky equation of premixed flames are obtained numerically in this paper. Some of these solutions, of the bicoalescent type recently described by Guidi and Marchetti, are stable with Neumann boundary conditions. With these boundary conditions, the time evolution of the Sivashinsky equation in the presence of a moderate white noise is controlled ...
متن کاملErgodic BSDEs and related PDEs with Neumann boundary conditions under weak dissipative assumptions
We study a class of ergodic BSDEs related to PDEs with Neumann boundary conditions. The randomness of the driver is given by a forward process under weakly dissipative assumptions with an invertible and bounded diffusion matrix. Furthermore, this forward process is reflected in a convex subset of R not necessarily bounded. We study the link of such EBSDEs with PDEs and we apply our results to a...
