چکیده
This work is devoted to prove the exponential decay for energy of solutions a higher order Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)–Benjamin–Bona–Mahony (BBM) equation on periodic domain with localized damping mechanism. Following method in [L. Rosier and B.-Y. Zhang, J. Diff. Equ. 254 (2013) 141–178], which combines estimates, multipliers compactness arguments, problem reduced Unique Continuation Property (UCP) weak model. Then, this done by deriving Carleman estimates system coupled elliptic-hyperbolic equations.

Unique continuation property for a higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation
We prove that, if a sufficiently smooth solution u to the initial value problem associated with the equation ∂t u+ iα∂2 xu+ β∂3 xu+ iγ |u|2u+ δ|u|∂xu+ u∂xu= 0, x, t ∈R, is supported in a half line at two different instants of time then u≡ 0. To prove this result we derive a new Carleman type estimate by extending the method introduced by Kenig et al. in [Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Anal. Non Linéair...
متن کاملUnique Continuation for Discrete Nonlinear Wave Equations
We establish unique continuation for various discrete nonlinear wave equations. For example, we show that if two solutions of the Toda lattice coincide for one lattice point in some arbitrarily small time interval, then they coincide everywhere. Moreover, we establish analogous results for the Toda, Kac–van Moerbeke, and Ablowitz–Ladik hierarchies. Although all these equations are integrable, t...

متن کاملDecay Estimates for Fourth Order Wave Equations
may be thought of as a nonlinear beam equation. In this paper we obtain both L-L estimates and space-time integrability estimates on solutions to the linear equation. We also use these estimates to study the local existence and asymptotic behavior of solutions to the nonlinear equation, for nonlinear terms which grow like a certain power of u. The main L-L estimate (Theorem 2.1) states that sol...
متن کاملUnique Continuation for Second-order Parabolic Operators at the Initial Time
We consider second-order parabolic equations with time independent coefficients. Under reasonable assumptions, it is known that the fundamental solution satisfies certain Gaussian bounds related to the associated geodesic distance. In this article we prove a sharp unique continuation property at the initial time which matches exactly the above-mentioned kernel bounds.
