چکیده
A unified framework for particulate two-phase flow is presented with a wide range of solid particle concentration from dilute to dense limit. The simulated by two coupled solvers, that is, the gas-kinetic scheme (GKS) gas phase and wave–particle method (UGKWP) phase. GKS second-order Navier–Stokes solver. UGKWP multiscale all regimes. wave decomposition in depends on cell's Knudsen number (Kn). At small Kn number, highly concentrated will be modeled Eulerian hydrodynamic due intensive particle–particle collisions. large followed Lagrangian capture non-equilibrium transport. In transition regime, smooth between above limits obtained according local number. distribution particles composed analytical function discrete particle, both condensed phases can automatically captured most efficient way. current scheme, model improves previous one many aspects, such as drag force model, frictional pressure formulation, flux limiting model. tested typical gas–particle problems, including interaction shock layer, horizontal pneumatic conveying, bubble formation, cluster phenomena fluidized bed. results validate GKS-UGKWP simulation flow.

A method for bubble volume measurement under constant flow conditions in gas–liquid two-phase flow
Measuring the volume of a bubble, especially at its detachment, is a basic subject in gas-liquid two-phase flow research. A new indirect method for this measurement under constant flow conditions is presented. An electronic device is designed and constructed based on laser beam intensity. This device calculates the frequency of the bubble formation by measuring the total time of the formation p...
متن کاملA method for detecting bubbles in two-phase gas-liquid flow
Detecting bubble in two-phase flow has been a basic issue in two-phase flow systems. A new method for measuring the frequency of bubble formation is presented in this paper. For this purpose, an electronic device was designed and constructed which works based on a change in intensity of laser beam. For this purpose, continues light beam is embedded just above the needle, which is received by a ...
متن کاملA Gas-kinetic Method for Hyperbolic-elliptic Equations and Its Application in Two-phase Fluid Flow
A gas-kinetic method for the hyperbolic-elliptic equations is presented in this paper. In the mixed type system, the co-existence and the phase transition between liquid and gas are described by the van der Waals-type equation of state (EOS). Due to the unstable mechanism for a fluid in the elliptic region, interface between the liquid and gas can be kept sharp through the condensation and evap...

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of gas-solid flow through a positive low-pressure pneumatic conveyor were performed using Eulerian-Eulerian framework. Pressure drop in pneumatic conveying pipelines, creation and destruction of plugs along the horizontal and vertical pipes, effect of 90° elbows and U-bends on cross-section concentrations, and rope formation and dispersion were...
متن کاملQuantum phase transitions beyond the dilute Bose gas limit
We study a Heisenberg S=1/2 ring-exchange antiferromagnet which exhibits a quantum phase transition from a spontaneously dimerized (valence bond solid) phase to a magnetically ordered (Néel) phase. We argue that the quantum transition is of unconventional nature; both singlet and triplet modes of high density condense as the transition is approached from the dimer side, signaling restoration of...
