چکیده
With the growing population, industrialization, and agriculture, water contamination not only affects people but entire ecosystems. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), because of their large surface area porosity, show great potential as adsorbents for removing pollutants, such heavy metals, from contaminated water. The current research aims at examining copper (II) benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate (Cu-BTC) MOFs understanding mechanism adsorption Pb(II) aqueous solution. Cu-BTC samples were characterized using FTIR XRD, porosity determined based on N2 isotherms. concentration in solutions was measured atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Both kinetic equilibrium data collected then analyzed numerical models. analyses led to findings that limiting steps are (a) pore diffusion (b) availability active sites MOFs. It further revealed former step is more dominant when lead low. latter step, which directly proportional areas MOFs, a greater extent high. results also ions mainly multi-layer heterogeneous process.

Molecular simulations for adsorption and separation of natural gas in IRMOF-1 and Cu-BTC metal-organic frameworks.
We use Monte Carlo simulations to study the adsorption and separation of the natural gas components in IRMOF-1 and Cu-BTC metal-organic frameworks. We computed the adsorption isotherms of pure components, binary, and five-component mixtures analyzing the siting of the molecules in the structure for the different loadings. The bulk compositions studied for the mixtures were 50 : 50 and 90 : 10 f...
متن کاملAdsorption Mechanism of Toxic Metal Ions by Clay (attapulgite)
A series of adsorption tests were conducted to analyze the sorption capacity of attapulgite. Ions such as cobalt, nickel, lead and cadmium were adsorbed from waste solutions onto attapulgite surface. Adsorption depletion tests were performed as a function of solid to liquid ratio, conditioning time, heavy metal ion concentration, and pH to identify the mode and extent of interactions in the sys...
متن کاملThree-dimensional Printed Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Framework Coated with Cu-BTC Metal-organic Frameworks for the Removal of Methylene Blue
Three-dimensional (3D) printing was applied for the fabrication of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) framework. Functionalization of the ABS framework was then performed by coating of porous Cu-BTC (BTC = benzene tricarboxylic acid) metal-organic frameworks on it using a step-by-step in-situ growth. The size of the Cu-BTC particles on ABS was ranged from 200 nm to 900 nm. The Cu-BTC/ABS fra...
متن کاملAdsorption Behavior and Mechanism for the Uptake of Fluoride Ions by Reed Residues
The adsorption behavior and mechanism for the uptake of fluoride ions by untreated and desugared reed residues (roots, stems and leaves) were studied through adsorption experiments, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and surface area analysis. The results showed that the adsorption capacity of untreated and desugared reeds followed the order: desugared roots 2136 mg/kg > desugared leaves...
