چکیده
Irrigation is one of the main users water worldwide and its overuse may affect natural regimes systems. To avoid this, drainage irrigation management needs to be improved. This study aims determine amount lost in a semi-arid Mediterranean irrigated area. Water use, rainfall were monitored for 12 months (2019–2020) 425 ha sub-basin Algerri-Balaguer district (8000 ha, NE Spain). In addition, requirements estimated using single-crop FAO-56 method two-source energy balance model (TSEB) was used estimate actual evapotranspiration sub-basin. as 18% total that entered perimeter rainfall, which are almost five time higher than theoretical leaching. Out water, 57% 43% rainwater. The average 614 mm efficiency at 80.2% averaged 1144 mm. available margin improvement between 19.3% present ratio 3.8% with leaching requirement model.

The state of development of drainage in arid and semi-arid countries is lagging far behind the development of irrigation. This leaves the worlds’ irrigated agriculture at high risk of losing productive lands to waterlogging and salinization. As development of new irrigation projects will not likely happen any more as in the sixties and seventies, drainage of existing irrigated lands can contrib...
متن کاملRecharge estimation and soil moisture dynamics in a Mediterranean, semi-arid karst region
Knowledge of soil moisture dynamics in the unsaturated soil zone provides valuable information on the temporal and spatial variability of groundwater recharge. This is especially true for the Mediterranean region, where a substantial fraction of long-term groundwater recharge is expected to occur during high magnitude precipitation events of aboveaverage wet winters. To elucidate process unders...

Plant macrofossils extracted from fossil woodrat (Neotoma spp.) middens at a single locale in the northwestern Great Basin were used to examine vegetation dynamics during the last 30 000 yr. Although the modem assemblage of xeric species at the study site is a recent occurrence, a large proportion of the modem plant taxa near the study locale were also found 12 000 30 000 yr BP. The persistence...

This study investigated the interactive effects of different rates of deficit irrigation and timings of N application on wheat and barley yields since there was no report on this important subject. Field experiments in strip-plot designs using sprinkler line sources were conducted for two years at a semi-arid Mediterranean site. The experiments consisted of 4 and 7 irrigation levels with 3 and ...
