Ultrasound Protects Human Chondrocytes from Biochemical and Ultrastructural Changes Induced by Oxidative Stress

چکیده
The aim of the study was to assess effects therapeutic ultrasound (US) on oxidative stress (OS)-induced changes in cultured human chondrocytes (HCH). For this, monolayer HCH were randomized three groups: a control group (CG), exposed OS (OS group), and US (US-OS group). exposure performed prior induction by hydrogen peroxide. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) used ultrastructure. inflammatory markers recorded. Malondialdehyde (MDA) tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α significantly higher (p < 0.05) than CG. In US-OS MDA TNF-α lower group. Finally, CG, but without statistical significance. TEM showed normal necrotic with high degree vacuolation cell organelles damages. ultrastructure well preserved, autophagosomes generated. conclusion, could protect from biochemical (lipid peroxidation, synthesis) ultrastructural induced stimulate development.

Rapamycin protects testes against germ cell apoptosis and oxidative stress induced by testicular ischemia-reperfusion
Objective(s):Rapamycin is an immunosuppressant compound with a broad spectrum of pharmaco-logical activities. In recent years, it has been used successfully to decrease ischemia-reperfusion injury in several organ systems. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of rapamycin on testicular ischemia-reperfusion injury. Materials and Methods: Seventy-two adult male Wistar rats w...
متن کاملColchicine protects rat skeletal muscle from ischemia/reperfusion injury by suppressing oxidative stress and inflammation
Objective(s): Neutrophils play an important role in ischemia/reperfusion (IR) induced skeletal muscle injury. Microtubules are required for neutrophil activation in response to various stimuli. This study aimed to investigate the effects of colchicine, a microtubule-disrupting agent, on skeletal muscle IR injury in a rat hindlimb ischemia model. Materials and Methods: Twenty-one Sprague-Dawley ...
متن کاملAdrenomedullin protects rat dorsal root ganglion neurons against doxorubicin-induced toxicity by ameliorating oxidative stress
Objective(s): Despite effective anticancer effects, the use of doxorubicin (DOX) is hindered due to its cardio and neurotoxicity. The neuroprotective effect of adrenomedullin (AM) was shown in several studies. The present study aimed to evaluate the possible protective effects of AM against DOX-induced toxicity in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) neurons. M...
متن کاملSuppression of Par-4 protects human renal proximal tubule cells from apoptosis induced by oxidative stress.
BACKGROUND Oxidative stress is an important inducer of cell apoptosis and plays a key role in the development of renal inflammation. The prostate apoptosis response factor-4 (Par-4) gene was originally identified in prostate cells undergoing apoptosis. Subsequently, Par-4 was found to possess potent pro-apoptotic activity in various cellular systems. However, it remains unclear whether Par-4 is...
